6 killed in Peshawar CIA police station blast

16.10.09

Peshawar: Six people were killed and several injured when an explosion hit CIA police station in cantonment area of Peshawar on Friday.
According to initial reports, explosives were planted in a car parked near a wall of the station which was demolished in the blast. Several people including inmates were wounded in the incident. The causality figures are likely to go up, reports said.
The blast comes a day after the audacious terror attacks in Pakistan -- three in the country's cultural and political hub of Lahore and one each in the northwestern cities of Peshawar and Kohat -- that left 41 people dead and several others injured.

It is clear that that the many organisations in Pakistan that go in the name of Islam are waging war against the state because they are convinced that the state is not being true to the promise of Pakistan at the time of its creation - that it would be a pure state of Islam. This was the implicit idea even though Jinnah sought to secularise the polity once Pakistan was formed. The formation of Pakistan failed to take into account that it inherited an army that was formed, trained and run on principles of the British army and it continued to be a professional force that did not have the ideal of an Islamic state as its motivation. So it is no wonder that Islamists feel betrayed by the state of Pakistan and have now waged an all out war against it. Eventually the forces of Islam must prevail because none of the players in the Pakistani power game are anti Islam though the state appears not to be dedicated to Islam. And, as promised by the Jihadis, once a Taliban like force takes over Pakistan, they would train their guns on India. The consequences would be earth shattering.
