Situation tense, Pillai heads to Srinagar

Updated on Wednesday, July 07, 2010, 15:08 IST

The violence generated by stone throwing anti-Indian mob is getting out of hand and the army has been called in. But the stone throwing is only a serious symptom of the basic malaise – hatred for India, generated by leaders who have been given respectability under the label of Hurriyat Conference and their supporters in Pakistan. These leaders must be arrested and tried for treason. The army should not be restricted to bringing peace on the streets of Srinagar and other places. It must be on a "find and destroy" mission to annihilate anti Indian militants in Kashmir and India must be ready to cross the border if need be. Till this job is complete the army must be given full powers of operation with no political interference.
