Jamiat-e-Ulema Hind calls 'Vande Matram' un-Islamic

Zeenews Bureau

Deoband (UP): Terming the recitation of ‘Vande Mataram’ as against Islam, the Jamiat-e-Ulema Hind (JEU) has passed a resolution against the national song.

According to a resolution passed at the Deoband national convention meet on Tuesday, Muslims should not sing 'Vande Matram' as some verses of the patriotic song are against the tenets of Islam.

Incidentally, the controversy comes on a day when Home Minister P Chidambaram is to address the convention at the Deoband seminary, today.

Many leaders of the Jamiat-e-Ulema Hind, the organiser of the event, are said to be against ‘Vande Matram’.

Another prominent Islamic leader and Rajya Sabha MP Mehmood Madani has also objected to some lines in the national song.

The Muslim Law Board has justified the decision saying that (Muslims) can’t offer prayers to anyone but Allah. Kamal Farooqui, a prominent leader of the Board said, “We love the nation but can’t worship it."

According to sources, there was a clamour among a section of the scholars attending the conference, which opened yesterday, that a formal religious decree or a ‘fatwa’ should be issued against ‘Vande Matram’.

In an apparent attempt to pacify this section, the conference passed a resolution to this effect. Apart from it, 25 other resolutions were also passed which included a resolution denouncing terrorism.

The conference, which opened yesterday at the Islamic institute in Deoband, was to be attended by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi also but sources yesterday confirmed that two will not travel to the western UP city.

The gathering, organised by Jamiat-e-Ulema Hind, is the first annual meeting of the organisation being held at Deoband. Nearly 10,000 clerics and Islamic scholars are expected to attend the event while the turnout of Muslims likely to cross the five-lakh marks.

The Jamiat meet is taking place in the backdrop of a series of conferences of Islamic scholars of different schools and activists explaining why Islam and terror of the jihadi brand were mutually exclusive.

Oh !!! What a news , now they are saying Vande Matram is against their Religious Faiths. This shows how patriotic they are ?Taliblisation in a way to capture India. Wakep India... This government is giving them courage by accepting their demands now and then. -commentator - Pune
This is how the secular forces have pampered the minorities in the name of secularism. What is the harm in worshipping your own matrubhumi. If you cannot respect your own mother (who we consider supreme) than even Allah will not forgive us. These clerics of today are fake clerics, misguiding the youths, brainwashing them & creating a talibani in them. Today they have gone to an extent of denouncing Vaande Mataram. Tommorow they will say that they dont beleive in indian constitution & laws, & that they beleive only in Shariat. Shame on our so called secular leader who are planning to be a part of such conventions. Educated Muslims Please wake up, speak against the so called clerics who plans to divide India by igniting the reiligious feelings. Even during indian freedom struggle ``vande mataram` was the chief slogan for motivating people to fight against the britisher. This calls were not only made by Hindus, but by other religion leaders also. So wake up Indians give a kick on the butts of such scholars, Bcos they are good for nothing. -bhartiya - goa
Why is Jamaat opposing, they just pointing some absurd reasons to not sing Vande Maatram, which is used by even Muslin nationalist freedom fighters. VANDE MAATARAM!!! -Umesh - gurgaon
Is this a sign of creeping islamisation??? If they find it hard to digest the national song on some flimsy religious grounds, 62 odd years after independence. -aarvey - bangalore
Dont they salute their mother? Dont they respect her? Isnt mother land saluatable? -Rajesh - Mumbai
Saying Vande Mataram is Un-Islamic Living in Un-Islamic country in is Islamic. is this the islam teaches of intolerant of other community sentiments. -Pramesh - UAE
excellent! what a secular proclamation! this is atribute to all those who kissed theo gallows in brish period singing that song -antigovt - bihar

Praying to mother/motherland is not allowed in Islam, but paradise beneath of mother’s feet you have respect and obey her. Also a similar Vedic verse says the same pray to one God only who created universe not to bow your mother land it does not mean that Hindu Muslim and other faiths do not love their country. If require or time comes we all die for our country. Leaders only create hate rate among us for vote bank please understand this. And my humble request to all please go back and read our scriptures. -Faheem - Jeddah
throw these people into pakistan, and tell them to practice islam over there . the song was being sung around 70years back. that means the are into unislamic practice since last so many years . now tell them to go to pakistan and repent there mistake -sameer - surat
It is up to the practitioners of Islam to say if a certain thing is against Islamic tenets or not. So it is well within their right to say that Vande Matram is against Islamic tenets. And no one can force anyone to go against their religious believes. Thus, Muslims should not be forced to sing Vande Mataram. But this position of Muslims can hardly dilute the fact that Vande Mataram is a patriotic song and all nationalists should popularize this song even more to ensure that the patriotic frevour resonates in India regardless of Muslim contribution towards it. Also, it must be noted that those who consider their religion greater than loyalty to the country would have no hesitation in destroying the country for religious purposes, particularly if the country happens to be a non-Islamic one like India. This happened when Pakistan was created and this is being attempted for the creation of Kashmir. Therefore the Muslim position on Vande Mataram can be considered anti-national. The truth is, it is not a question of Islam vs. India but a question of the Islamic nation (Qom) vs. India. -K.Venugopal - Mumbai
Secularism is not to do something against once religion, just imagine because muslims dont worship idols, if we tell hindus not to worship idols as secularism, would that be correct....... and more over these people are saying it is un-islamic and not asking others not to sing it. we need to open our minds and hearts to understand others sentiments and feelings. -Ahmed - Hyderabad, India
Its just a waste of time, why can`t these mullah give fatwa, to get their kids highly educated, abolish dowry system, and other social problems. You are living in the wrong what is wrong to say vande mataram, Allah Knows your Intention...Your Imaan MUSLIMS HAVE TO CHANGE THE WAY OF THINKING...AND PLAN CONSTRUCTIVE APPROACH OF LIFE...AND NOT DISTRUCTIVE....MAY ALLAH GIVE ALL THE MUSLIM AN OPEN MIND...TO GROW & PROGRESS... -Zafar A. Siddiqui - Saudi Arabia
The problem with these hardcores is that they cannot co-exist with anyone or anything. They must not be allowed to get away with such bigotry. I wonder how any intellectually mature person can ever accept such crippling mandes being inposed on them by what they call a religion! -Raj - Mandya
is this right after 62 years of Independence, what they where doing all this years, -Deepak - Mumbai
Those who cannot sing national anthem should leave the country -ravi - Bangalore
Vandematarm is just a song. But Islam is a religion established on the worship of only ``One God`` who is nir-aakar. It preaches that no other entity should be worshiped except the All Mighty Creator. Islam preaches that loving the country is equal to half the religion. Merely by singing or not singing a song cannot be a proof of ``love for the country``. The intention is important. So communal parties and media should not creat a controversy out of this issue. This same political leaders have stripped, sold, abused Mother India and have stached its riches in Swiss banks. -SAM - Mumbai
I am very proud to be an indian and I love my country. Being muslim, we are not allowed to bow infront of my own mother then how can you expect that bowing to some one other my own mother. I request to all my country men to now the meaning of vande mataram. I know most of us doesn`t know the meaning, we simply sing this one as song. -Arshad - India

Am sure our Freedom fighters & people who sacrifised their lives for our freedom wondering at this juncture. ‘Vande Matram’ is more of a Motivational & National song as per our constitution & part of secular ``INDIA`` Just wonder what is the government doing? but not issuing a FATWA against this illegal act of a few clerics who are out to creat this rift in the Nation. True every one has a right to practice his/her own Religion, but If we have no identity as a Country then we are nothing short of Barbariens. Feel we the People irrespective of Religion, Caste, Age issue a Fatwa against such Anti-Social & Anti-National`s Including our Politicians. Eshwar & Alla put together cannot save INDIA at this rate!! -ShashiKiran - Bangalore
WE ALL ARE EDUCATED HERE DONT MAKE THIS A BIG ISSUE ONE THING WE SHOULD KEEP IN MIND,INDIA IS OUR MOTHER LAND AND WE SHOULD BE READY TO SACRIFICE OUR LIFE TO SING VANDE MATHRAM IS NOT A BIG DEAL WHEN IT COMES TO PRACTICAL IT COUNTS BEING A MUSLIMS I FEEL PROUD TO BE A MUSLIM AND WOULD BE HAPPY TO FIGHT FOR MY COUNTRY - JAI HIND -SYED - MUMBAI
We r trying to make such a society and country were things will not work with the will of only one religion ,group or community.Muslims should understand that we r trying to make earth a better place to live in and pure islam or hinduism or christianity is not the path to achieve that.So open up to embrace the common culture, common language, common agenda, common slogans and common faith and sprituality -rishi - chennai
I definitely agree with Arshad. Each person in India should understand the Real meaning of our National Anthem. Both hindu and Muslim worship their mother and the anthem is about our Mother i.e India. Organizations like Jamiat-e-Ulema and Bajrang Dal should make their step forward for the prosperity and improvement of people rather than holding these trivial issues. We belong to a secular country we should aware of this otherwise there will be no difference between us and Pakistan. -Sapnil - Cuttack
It is silly that when the nation is in crisis from extremists across the border, all these so called ``scholars`` can think about at a national convention is that Muslims should not sing a song. When there is rising tension in our beloved nation over religion their job should be to find ways in which they can unite communities not divide them. -Anshu - India
i dont feel there`s nothing wrong in their requst ,. they are not asking to change it to islamic prayers or , to opposing our national song , or insulting it , just they are quiting it ,. being a democratic country every one has their own opnion , and being a multi religious country , their request is not wrong ,. ofcose national song has some parts which focus on hindu religion , ``Thou art Durga, Lady and Queen, With her hands that strike and her swords of sheen, Thou art Lakshmi lotus-throned, And the Muse a hundred-toned, Pure and perfect without peer, `` A national song should be accepted by all , and should be sung with pleasure ,. it should create patronage in their minds ,. but having hard feelings while singing the song , how can Islamic people can salute the our mother nation ? -pradeep - chennai
We all muslims believe in one God and also believe that what ever exist in this world belongs to one God if we all follow the same there will be no controversy. We value everything in this world we love our country but we prefer religion. love does`nt mean you have sing some songs have you ever sung any song for your mother but you still know how much you love her. Life here in this world is for years but for hereafter we have to think that is the life which is endless so be serious about that as soon as you can. -Arif Baba - Delhi
``WE LOVE THE NATION BUT CANNOT WORSHIP`` Kamal Farooqui a prominent leader of the Muslim Law Board. I think he must be very experienced and qualified as well, which is reflected from his comment:``We love the nation but can`t worship it``. ... How can he worship the mother who has given him birth? ... I sincerely hope his ward/wards will kick his ASS as they grow up and then he can realize whom to worship. ... He is not at all a human being as he does not love his Mother. on the other hand, he has taken the seat of a SAVIOUR of the society. ... People like him can only create silt around themselves like a pig does as they like living there. They can never dare to clear the society of the mess but rather help in aggravating them. -B P - Assam
rediculous!!! and Ironic. People can issue resolutions against national anthem! What happened to India,we are not even in a position to punish these extremists. Only problem with these people is they cant live in unilamic countries. Mr. Priminister you can go a head and change the conutry`s national anthem for Votes. Tomorrow they say Gandhi is not Nation`s father , we can not calling father.....Wah re India..... -Vijay G - Bangalore
Shame on the religion who not allow to respect mother. Jo apni ma ka samman nahi karna janta voh desh ka kya samman karega . Those who have problem with Vande Mataram they can leave nation. Because this land always respect mother and our country it self our mother . i.e BHARAT MATA. I advice to educated Muslim to oppose such type of nonsense Fatva. other vise ready to face Anger of Hindu. Which u seen After Godhara. Jay Hind Jay Bharat Mata Vandemataram Jigar Dave Visnagar ,Gujarat -Jigar Dave - Visnagar,Gujarat

this comment is not aimed at any particular religion. if one tries to follow ones religion strictly it will be impossible to lead a normal life. we all skip the undesirable parts of our religion when it comes to our own and our dependents well being (cherry picking). if you don`t believe me, try to follow your religion literally and you will know what i mean. -sathish - seoul, korea
i love my nation more than my religion. the almighty god knows it. i abide by the preachings of my religion but it is never said in islam about the race between once mother nation vs god. this is a foolish contraversy created by some people the fatwa shud be against those who knowingly pull their religion into a race. the fact in religion and my mother nation are different entities. they shudnot be brought into comparison ONLY FOOLS WILL COMPARE AND FIGHT. vande mataram -asad kazi - chennai
The one, who created man kind with un clean water keeps some limit. So, one should consider this thing. And try to understand the fact and save man kind from Swine flu, tsunami, earthquake, floods. INDIAN. -Yasein - INDIA
Total farce and pathetic. Those who cannot say Vande mataram should be send to Pakistan. This is the Perverse kind of logic some people have ...i am a proud Hindu but i do not believe Quran is anti-Hindu.Why dont you issue Fatwa when acor and actress from muslim community show obscene behavier ...is that not Unislamic...I have read Quran....and all the books says only one thing ...let there be Light everywhere and world should stay in peace. 90% of Hindu has accepted muslim as part of their society ..i dont understand why trivial stuff is taken up as an issue...if Vande mataram is unislamic then the Burqa that your women wear is also unislamic Come out of this nonsense business of FATWA and let live together in peace and harmony. -Jayesh - Mumbai
this is our country, if they dont respect there mother then how can they say that they repects the country. this is really very bad, what they where doing from last 62 years............?????? -devesh - delhi
i am agree with mr Zafar A. Siddiqui, he said right, and i cant understand why they need fatwa? they want hindu and muslim fight again? they should think about backdrop of this step, they have to urge muslims to make there kids study higher, they have to think aboout there wedding systems, common think mr ulema -sifarx - delhi
I really surprised, lot of people have mentioned ``Vande Matram`` as ``National Antehm``. It is national song and Supreme Court has given its judgement that it is not necessary for someone to sing national song. National Anthem is ``Jana Gana Mana Adhinayak ki Jay he..`` Guys you all need to correct yourself. -Hussain - Bangalore
the people who can not sing a song in praise of their motherland then why they ask for their rights from that very motherland.from it appears that a few hand full of so called religious leaders think that the community is their bonded labour and use them as tool to achieve their own ambitions.it is clear from their behaviour that they are intolrent un-cooperative which is a cause of bitterness between fellow countrymen.this theory is creating a problem world wide.our leaders should also rise above the vote bank theory and do some thing for the country and these type of people should be dealt with a iron hand and there should be no. compromise with the HONOUR AND INTEGRITY OF OUR MOTHERLAND. VANDE-MATRAM. LONG LIVE HIDUSTAN- LONG LIVE OUR DEMOCRACY. -bee emm - chandigarh
When will thes Muslim `` Scholars``(!) try to understand that there is a difference between Eighth Century and Twenty First Century Ground Reality.Islam as originated then had different ideas& tenets suited to the geo-political realities and social dynamics then existing and the world has over the centuries outgrown lots of religious dogmas and outdated concepts enshrined in their respective religions in the course of time. Why cann`t anyone from this religion come out of the Eighth Century ideals. Why still everything as existed 1200-1300 years ago must be adhered to. Cann`t these people adapt and apply their minds to the changed world.Enough of ``Religion above everything `` kind of mindset of these Scholars. They must see the things in their own perspectives than tjhe filters fitted by any one religious book written hundreds of years ago. Come on be practical. You cann`t take this world back to Eighth Century even if you would love to fantasize about that even today !!! -Raaj - Mumbai
If you people can`t worship our country India, then leave our country. Anyway you have no other work but to plan destructions and blasts in our country -Gaurav - Delhi

wande mataram saying is wrong in islam becuase this two words means of saying your country is god but facts is no one can take place of god . god is god and cannot be compare with anyone. first of all most of the people dont know the meaning of these two words. -Mohammad - mumbai
National song is un Islamic then why they leave in India. and government is said that they have rights.. Now the people have to think is it in the favor in nation or .. in the favor in government favor.? -hindu - india
Those who not willing to sing Vantematharam not eligible to get Indian citizenship. As per Quran hindus are kafir may be tommorrow (when they bocome majority) they will say to leave the country. Better for all Hindus is unite now fight against these Rakshasas (in kaliyug rakshasas will re birth as muslims and cristians). -Godsebrigadier - Kerala
Muslims do not respect their country they live in, not only in india but in all the non-islamic countries they live in. Thats why they are involved in terrorist activities to under mine the country. -pranit - uk
these mullahas r trouble makers.because of this people all world hate muslims.i came to london 2001, i become the citizen of this country 2006. before become the citizen every one must sing national antham.if not they reject ur nationality. so indian govt must make tha law that who dont want vande mataram, they must go to jail.all the nations holding different religious people no one talk about their antham.why only indian muslims talking this?.nation is more important dan religion.for them religion is important why dont they go to muslim nation.when margaret thacher was prime minister in uk,muslims demanded many things, but she sais only one word.``if u want stay in this nation u must follow our rules or quit this country.den all britian muslims shut their mouths. my dear indian political leaders for saftey pls dont allow this kind of people .must take swift action.mera bharat mahan.vande mataram.bharat mata ki jai. -chandra - london
Lets all be sane when we post our views. If you feel FATWA was agst. freedom or that the islamic customs are old/outdated, let there be person know that Islam as a religion had been ``perfected`` as the eternal religion till doomsday without any provision of changes in its basic tenets(whether or not non-believers agree). One of the MOST BASIC TENET of islam is the oneness of God almightly and that he is the only being to be worshipped. So anything (like the vande mataram) goes against such important tenet, religious scholars have to take the stand and inform everybody that the case here is serious enough to warrant there interference. So do not put blame unless you are well aware of what you want to counter. Mubeen -Ahmed mubeen - UAE
What do hindu sculptures say: ACCORDING TO VEDAS GOD HAS GOT NO PRATIMA (STATUE), SO WHEN ONE SAYS VANDAE MATARAM, MEANING MY COUNTRY IS MY GOD, SO IT GOES EVEN AGAINST HINDU VEDAS,. ACCORDING TO BHAGWAT GITA CHAPTER 7, VERSE 20, SAYS ONE SHOULD NOT DO IDOL WORSHIP. So by saying vandae mataram it is not allowed in Hinduism also. We muslims love this country like hindus do, but bowing to anyone except our lord is prohibited either for muslims or hindus. EVEN MOTHER GIVES BIRTH, WE LOVE HER AND RESPECT HER, BUT WORSHIPING HER IS JUSTIFIES ANYWAYS. All this is just a political issues. Our being Indian is not based on this song. THIS SONG WAS WRITTEN IN 1876 AND PUBLISHED IN 1882. SO HOW IT BECAME NATIONAL SONG. Enev a muslim living in Saudi arab or malasia or Pakistan or Indonesia or iraq or anywahere , he cannot bow or worship his country. This is according to hindu basic laws and muslim laws also. People don’t understand , that does’t mean that muslims are wrong. This means that even hindus have not understood their own religion. -dr sajad - MP
Is Former president og India A.P.J.Abdul Kalam also attended this meeting? Birth control is Un-Islamic and going to hospital to give birth not Un-Islamic. What a logic of Islamic people? -tamatertam - goa
Read Vande Matram completely. It is the part of the controversial & infamous book Anandmath. Besides, glorifying the British Queen, Motherland is depicted as Goddess Durga. Worshipping TEN Handed deity as “SWADESH” is not acceptable to Muslims. Patriotism, respect to Motherland is totally different from worshipping it as goddess. It is also against to Hinduism as per Hindu scriptures - (I) ``Those whose intelligence has been stolen by material desires surrender unto demigods and follow the particular rules and regulations of worship according to their own natures.`` [Bhagavad Gita 7:20] (II) ``They enter darkness, those who worship the natural elements`` (Air, Water, Fire, etc.). ``They sink deeper in darkness, those who worship sambhuti.`` ( created things, table, chair, idol, etc) [Yajurveda 40:9] (III) ``na tasya pratima asti`` There is no image of Him. [Yajurveda 32:3] (IV) ``shudhama poapvidham`` He is body less and pure.[Yajurveda 40:8]. Muslims believe in & worship ONE & ONLY GOD. -hasan abbas - bangalore
This is the result of UPA bending before minorities...on one hand MAOISTS are killing innocents, with China`s help..MEDIA is spreading anti-national thoughts backed by Macaulay followers and nor MUSLIMS are taking the nation for granted.....beware of these 3 M`s.... -Non Muslim - Bharat

This fatwa is nothing but the brainchild of a group of people who feel that their presence should be felt in the society. By creating this type of controversies they come to limelight for some time and nothing else. There were same type of person who implemented fatwa against Salman Khan. We live in a country the air we breath, the water we drink the food we eat, the shelter we live in all belongs to this country. in return if we do not worship it then how can we love it. And how can we pay gratitude to it. Those persons who are implementing fatwa against a patriotic song, had they ever issue fatwa against any terrorist or anti-national activity. -Manoj - Hyderabad
what crp?? Vandae mataram just means praising our motherland ..itisnt Idol worhsip!!! go first understand its meaning??And WHY u guys bow at kabba?? Why u guys praiseand kiss ur kuran?? that can also b termed as THING worship?? U SELF appointed KEEPERS OF religion ?? ALL religion orders U TO HELP POOR,, NEEDY GO do that IF ur allahs a Real GOD he will sure punish u for not doing whats really required i.e keeping good heart and helping those who need it -gargi - lucknow
Nothing wrong in saying god is one. But thinking only your path is true and others is false is problem. All hindu beleves in one god. In vedas it is clearly mentioned - god is one and called by different name by sages. not only that. we do not stop here go beyond we beleve in adwitiya theory. do u know what it that. If god is suprim, infinite nothing must have existed except god. so whole world is created from god or say god`s energy menifisted as this world. so do not thing only you are true and other is false. All this religion leads to one and only one god. why you are fighting? -jaydip - India
everybody should accept the country rules and regulations. It is not for one group or certain people. If this is the case in future they will ask to change Janaganamana also. So please dont accept this. -gopi - dubai
Vande matharam is our national anthem. Who ever is indian they all have to accept this. Doesn`t matter which religion. So dont accept this anyway. Tomorrow if someone willl ask to change the country name then also our political leader will tell the same for their position. So dont accept anything like this. India is only the country give full freedom to the minority. But now they are trying to rule out the whole Indian according to their way. Please dont accept this. -Harish - uae
Its shoking... best message in Islam is of unity. Oneness is there in every religion. we hindu pray god in different form but know very well god is one. In vedas it is clearly mentioned ``god is one call by different name by people``. name can very. - we know all path lead to one god then why thinking one is true and another is false. It is very very clearly mentioned in vedas god is one...is it word that creating problems..!! . so I think unity is best message of ISLAM and people are not able to understand and creating such contraversy. -Jaydip -
iam not here to explore the why Muslims not accept to sing Vandematram , but we are here in the world to worship no one but allah........we are minorities in india we live our lives together very happy it will continue forever ..............but let the enjoy what is good and forbid what is bad, ask our former president APJ Abdul Kalam opinion ..........large number of people may agree his views towards why muslims against vandematram ..............................the only religion in the world teach to do only right things .........i love India.............we strive to development of India...................it never ends -Chan Basha Shaik - Mumbai
Tomorrow they will say more against national anthem and then against hindu culture and then something forward.... better send them all to their beloved country Pakistan and raise a wall like Berlin. Otherwise, they will convert whole country like Myanmar, Indonesia, and so on.... WAKE UP.. SADHU BABA.. JAG AUR MAR DE IN MULLAON KO... -vasudev - abu dhabi, uae
India is a secular country. All religions participated for independent of India on their respecitvely languages. Here people living Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, and Christician. So no any authority can impose any type of their religious song to other religion. So there is no question arise for vande mataram ? I have seen different religious scholar participated in uleme convention of deoband in UP. I specially I impress with the Hindu Scholors because their thought matching with ulemas peoples also appreciated/welcome them with claps. I appreciated it. I do not find any thing wrong in this convention. You also need to be watch whole convention. May Allah show you right path. Ameen. -rashid - Hyderabad
This is called Fundamentalism. Making Fatwas are communal. Living in India, with a non-muslim majority is also non-Islamic. So why don`t these fundamentalists go to Pakistan which was created for the muslims of the sub-continent? -kkrishna - Mumbai

To resolve this issue, its better indian muslims with consultation with muslim poets who are patriotic come up with a modified version of vande mataram of verses they finf objectionable which are also acceptable to non-muslims of india. That seems not hard compared to spilling hatred for one another on basis of religion. Jai Hind. ( same goes for christian, parsi or sikh versions if need be necessary- its just like a remix of original bollywood song we all enjoy without hatred.) -niki - toronto, canada
When India need to be united some people trying to be separate by implementing their evil will and some part of our political parties also promoting these activities by the name of minorities. Lets think in India who are minorities are only Muslims, who we care other sect of our country. Hwy sketching of other religions images in bad manner in not Forbidden for them. Assistance of a Hindu dominating country but acting as secular in work and word`s donation towards Hajj is not Forbidden. My brother think before you speak what is good and what is bad. Till date its not a problem for general people of this sect but now it was a forbidden chapter. To be respected, pay respect to others this is universal truth what every religion said. -Susanta - Orissa, India
peace be in our country The taught process is different for muslims n hindus on bowing to anything. we bow only to almighty who made us into tribes and nations. we bow only the creator and not the creation. Don`t forget we muslims have strived together with majority hindus to liberate this nation. that is why India is so proud a place of unity in diversity! -Khalid - Kuwait
Dear Rajesh(Mumbai) and Pramesh (UAE), lets bring our mind to senses and speak what is sane. The issue is about ``WORSHIPING`` motherland (as the vande mataram slogan proclaims)........do know there`s difference of chock and cheese between worshiping and respecting. Do you understand the difference between these two?? If no, then atleast take effort to know your own religious book and you will know exactly what you have to reply. Your`s mind is stolen by material hatred against muslims, which you should try to wash out first. Do know that we muslims are against terrorism same as you are, we are against religious intolerence same as you are and above all, we are first class citizens same as you are. Ahmed mubeen, UAE -Ahmed mubeen - UAE
The refusal of the Muslims to sing this song seems to have angered the Hindutva ideologues, who, without giving them an opportunity to explain their position, have accused them of being anti-national. Hence, it becomes imperative to analyse the objections raised by the Muslim community against the recital of the Vande Mataram. Islam, being a monotheist religion, forbids the apotheosis of any deity, animate or inanimate, except God, the Supreme Creator. Bankimchandra Chatterjee’s Vande Mataram contains verses which are in direct conflict with the beliefs of Islam. For instance, the fourth stanza of the song addresses motherland India as, “Thou art Durga, Lady and Queen, with her hands that strike and her swords of sheen, Thou art Lakshmi lotus-throned……..” When a Muslim sings these words he is forced to equate his country with the Hindu goddesses Durga and Lakshmi, thereby deifying the physical land of India and beseeching it to “arise and save.” This militates against the concept of Tawheed (oneness of God) according to which a Muslim cannot supplicate to anyone except God. Therefore, just as one cannot force non-Muslims to recite the Quran in their gatherings, it would be most unfair to force the Muslims to violate their Scriptural injunctions by questioning their patriotism. -Mohammed Ashraf - M'lore, Karnataka
These Muslim clerics don`t bow before anyone better ask their begums who will say these men love to bow before them in bedroom. -Javed - Hyderabad
With this Mad and Bad Muslims in India they are spoiling our Islamic Religion. Kick out these basterds out of India. Other wise they want to show there dirty mind. Any one can see in UAE only bad things are done by these ASIAN MUSLIMS. 1. They sell there daughters. 2. Prostitution maximum femals from Muslim girls. 3. Smugglers. 4.Drug dealers. 5.Every type of bad things done by muslimsonly in this world take my word I am a Arab. -Mohammed Rashid Al-Rashidi - UAE
It is very sad to know a Fatwa issued against Vandemataram. Are they not indians? Mr.Mahmood Madani when he became a Rajya Sabha member what he did sworn? If they do not respect being an indian it is better to Gulf. There they will see what is real islam. In India they speak anything if they go Gulf they become dumb. If they speak anything Gulf governments straightly keep thgem inside the jail. Later they beg indian Government to release. These type of persons are harmful to the soverginity opf india. Here in india freedom is given to all religions. Did any hindu speak about other religions and putting any restrictions. If these type of persons creat any such statements it may lead to religious war. Indians particularly Hindus didn`t sit ideal. Once they start agitation no one in the world can not stop. For the past several centuaries many religions try to impose their religion in india. Due to the power of indian land, greatness of hindu culture no one can not do any thing in near future also none can dare to do such acts in india. My dear indians, awake. DO not allow this type of people allow in india to make such statments. If the Government follow the constitution, please first arrest Mr.Mahmood Madani under social security act. -P.Sathya Prakash - Warangal
