A strong demand for ban on Bajrang Dal and Hindu Jagran Manch was on Thursday made in the wake of reports that some Hindu groups were allegedly involved in the Malegaon and Modasa blasts, triggering noisy scenes in the Rajya Sabha. As Brinda Karat (CPI-M) made a forceful demand for the ban, she was immediately countered by BJP members who demanded strong action against SIMI. Raising the matter during Zero Hour, Karat pointed to newspaper reports claiming that Hindu extremist outfits had a hand in the Malegaon incident in Maharashtra and in Modasa in neighbouring Gujarat. She said according to the Anti Terror Squad (ATS) of Maharashtra, Bajrang Dal was involved in the incidents. The CPI(M) members said though the country was united in the fight against terrorists, there should not be two yardsticks for dealing with the menace. Whenever there was a terror attack, only a particular community was branded as terrorists, she said while demanding ban on Bajrang Dal and Hindu Jagran Manch. This provoked BJP and amid shouts and counter-shouts, the House was adjourned for ten minutes. Earlier, as the Zero Hour began, some Congress members, including Rashid Alvi and Jayanthi Natarajan, wanted to raise the issue. However, Deputy Chairman K Rahman Khan did not allow them saying they should give a proper notice. Bureau Report

I do not udnerstand why do call it Minority appeasement.If speaking agianst fake encounters is appeasement, I love this apeasement,I speaking against the burning of Muslims of Christians by hindu fanatics is appeasement, I love this appeasement, if speaking aganist the destruction of Babri Masjid by hooligans is apeasement, I love this apeasement, if speaking against looting and rioting against Muslims and christians is appeasement, i love this appeasement,if speaking against the act of raping pregnant muslim woman by hindu fanatics is appeasement, i love this appeasement, if speaking against injustice is appeasement, i love this appeasement..why are you guys bent of dividing India? I would say Muslims and Hindus of India should foil the attempts the extremsits from both communities to spread voilence. Banning Bajrang Dal is not possble for UPA. Finally they have to think about the biggest vote bank of India - the hindus. Else they will be voted out. All the parties who say are secular are all playing games with the Muslims of country. Bajrang Dal should not be banned but at the same time Bajrang dal should now work towards improving their name which is maligned in Orissa, Malegaon. Also they should see to it that no muslim, christian in this country should die because of them. This nation is not of any single religion. If Muslim organisations are found involved in any bombings that only proves the reaction for the demolishing of Babri Masjid, burning alive Muslims by Hindu terrroirsts, raping pregnant woman by hindu terrorists,taking the unborn fetous from the body of pregnant woman by hindu terrorists, looting and buring property by Hindu terrrorists in Gujarat, Mumbai and elsewhere..It will never end and you will not resolve the issue. If Hindu organisations are involved in the Malegaon and Modasa blasts, it signals a reaction to the bomb blasts across the nation by Muslim organisations. While no one has the right to take law into their hands, unless the menace emanating from the original bombers are diffused, reactions are bound to take place.
