Kerala on terror radar?

After blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad, all states are on alert. A journalist in Bangalore has received a phone call saying Kerala would be the next target.Major commercial centres, IT parks, important places of worship, bus stands, railway stations and airports are under close observation of security and intelligence personnel.With a security alert having been sounded across Kerala as well after a television channel claimed it had received an email saying Kerala could be the next target of terrorists, the Kerala Directorate General of Police Raman Srivastav said that there was no need to panic as security had been stepped up.PTI adds:"I have been informed by the DGP of Karnataka about the terror threat to Kerala. We spoke to the journalist concerned who said he had received two calls today -- one at one pm and another at 3.30 pm," Kerala Police chief Raman Srivastava said.The DGP convened a high-level meeting to review the security arrangements in the state."All my boys are out on the streets. All bus stations and public places are being closely monitored," Srivastava said, adding Bomb Disposal Squad and Rapid Action Force have also been pressed into service.Meanwhile, Kerala Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said there was no need to panic and the state police was in touch with their counterparts in Karnataka.He urged people to refrain from spreading rumours.


The sooner it is realised that more than Kerala being on terror radar, Kerala is the terror base of India - the better it would be for India.
