Speaker replies to Advani`s demand for making sting CDs public

New Delhi, July 28: In his reply to LK Advani's letter demanding that the cash-for-votes scam sting operation CDs be made public, Speaker Somnath Chatterjee has said that it is upto the newly formed committee of Lok Sabha MPs to take the decision, BJP said on Monday. "The Speaker has replied to the letter written to him by Advaniji. He has said that the committee should decide whether the CDs should be made public," senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj said to the reporters here. Swaraj said Chatterjee's letter also informed Advani that the news channel which carried out the sting has copies of the CDs. She said as per the Speaker's letter, the channel has also claimed that it has a right to telecast the CDs whenever it wants. Advani had written a letter to the Speaker on Sunday demanding that the CDs showing a close aide of Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh delivering Rs one crore in cash to three BJP MPs should be made public. Swaraj also took a dig at Congress general secretary and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh for alleging that the cash given to the three MPs was withdrawn from State Bank of Indore, New Market branch of Bhopal. Singh had also alleged that the money was arranged by the BJP government in the state. "Digvijay Singh should reveal the source of his information. Else he should be interrogated. This information (about the cash) is either known to the three MPs who got the cash or the staff of the Lok Sabha secretariat," she said. Bureau Report
